Finally, the official video of the South African smash hit by superstar producer, Qness, aptly titled ‘Fugama Unamathe’ is an epic production of some sort. The song made huge headlines not only in South Africa, but in Africa and across the world in 2009.
Africa is a rich continent of diverse cultures and traditions. But as pleasant as it may sound, it’s also a continent riddled with one form of crisis to another. Economic, political or wars have long plagued nations of Africa, yet music seems to be a powerful unifying force from North to South, East and West, holding the aspirations of young and old alike.
So, it’s very common to see a music from one country become so popular in other parts of Africa where joy and happiness is the only expectations of a hopeful people. Such is the case of Fela and his band of political activists whose exploits echoes well beyond Nigeria, capturing the imaginations of all races, tribes and religious strips.
Fela is a legend, a musician of many accomplishment, in death as in life we celebrate this son of Africa. Fearless defender of the poor and forgotten. Share your opinion of this man by leaving a few words in the comment box.
